Have you ever noticed how easy it is to shift your hope onto tangible things that were never meant to hold you up? Things like money, your spouse, your children, or even your job?
It’s so important to remember that God gives good gifts to His children; but that’s just what they are: GIFTS. He’s the only Source of life and provision we can count on.
When you begin to see God as your provider, you’ll less often cling to your “things” for security. You’ll find it more natural to live out of the supernatural divine supply He has offered you. That’s when the adventure of faith begins! You can trust Him!
Read these wise words from Andy Stanley:
Money is often the last door we open to God because we think it represents our security. But if you really want to be secure financially, you need God involved as soon as possible. The sooner you start sowing seeds, the sooner you will begin to reap a harvest. It’s a principle you can count on.
If we try to cling to our possessions and our selfish ways, we’re the ones who lose in the end. But if we open up our hands, if we’re willing to become flow through accounts of God’s love and divine supply, He’ll entrust us with more of who He is and what He has to give.
John D. Rockefeller said, I never would have been able to tithe the first million dollars I ever made if I had not tithed on my first salary, which was $1.50 a week.
God loved us so much that He gave.
Faith-filled giving: it’s the best antidote to a selfish, self-preserving life.
To me, living a ‘giving life’ is the best kind of life.
Take small steps. Shift your hope from the tangible temporary things in this life to God, the One who promised always to take care of you. Embrace a lifestyle of faith. Notice where God is at work around you and sow a few seeds there. You’ll be glad you did!
