In the midst of the craziness of Christmas, maybe you’re craving some time to relax today. Take a couple minutes right now to unwind (maybe with some tea or hot chocolate in hand) and reflect on what God has done for you this year.
Christmas is certainly a season of anticipation, awaiting the day celebrating Jesus’ birth and looking forward to His eventual return. But it’s also about looking back and remembering everything God has done for you, this year and in your life.
As you think back on this year, what stands out to you? Write down a couple highlights from the last year, then, think about how God was present in each one. Maybe you got a new job—how did you see God’s hand putting the pieces together to give you that opportunity? Maybe you welcomed a new member of the family—what ways did you see God’s faithfulness displayed?
If this year was difficult for you, maybe there were some small, simple joys you can give thanks for. Maybe God provided food on the table or special memories with friends or family, or maybe God displayed His nearness to you in tangible ways.
As you close your time of reflection today, thank God for the love and faithfulness He has shown you this year, and in your life!
