My uncle, 48, was killed earlier this year. There are different versions of the story. He had split up with his significant other of over 20 years and had been staying with a new girlfriend. It is suspected he was planning on going back home and leaving the girlfriend. They were drinking one night, and he somehow ended up being killed by a handgun. He ended up passing in the ER shortly afterwards. The police investigation ended in a bunch of dead ends. It is unclear if they were arguing over the gun, if he accidentally shot himself or if she shot him (accidentally or intentionally).
Fastforward to yesterday. My aunt and their teenage son were still living in their home, along with a friend of hers and her children. There was an electrical fire that ended up being a total loss of the house and all of their belongings. They're currently in a motel but I am unsure for how long or how they will pay for it going further as they were on a low income as it was.
This year has been so hard on her, and with Christmas coming up their family could use prayers. For circumstances to change as well as finding closeness and peace through Christ.
In the midst of the craziness of Christmas, maybe you’re craving some time to relax. Take a couple minutes to unwind and reflect on what God has done for you this year.
